Filmmakers, animators and media artists are invited to apply for the annual Helen Hill Animated Joy Award. The winner will be announced at the Silver Wave Film Festival, November 7-10, 2013.
The Award was established in memory of Helen Hill, an artist, animator and experimental filmmaker who was influential in the Atlantic community in the late 1990s. Helen passed away in 2007. More information about Helen and her work or the Joy Awards can be found at lindajoy.com.
The annual Award provides service and material support to the winning filmmaker and includes:
$2000 in equipment and facility access plus $500 in film stock* from the Atlantic Filmmakers Cooperative (for NS resident).
$1000 in equipment and edit suite access, plus $100 mentoring support from the Centre For Art Tapes.
$1000 in equipment and facility access from the New Brunswick Filmmakers’ Cooperative (for NB resident).
$1000 in equipment and facility access from the New Brunswick Filmmakers’ Cooperative (for NB resident).
